Born: 1943-06-17 Barry Manilow was born Barry Alan Pincus in Brooklyn, New York.
After high school he attended The Juilliard School. Before becoming a successful recording artist Manilow composed many well-know commercial jingles.
His first big hit came in 1974 and was the number one song "Mandy."
